"Paint Me like one of your French Squids Jack...."
I was really excited to tattoo Granny squid from Squidbillies. I'm a huge fan of the animated shows on Adult Swim, especially Squidbillies. Hopefully someone will come in for an Aqua Teen or Adventure Time tattoo soon....

It ain't easy being Green
Happy St.Patrick's Day! Here's a tattoo I did on my Brother today which shares my love of animation plus tattooing. This is the character Rusty from Squidbillies on Adult Swim. I would love to work for them someday! :3 Well I guess he won't have to worry about having his green on now :P

Oil Painting Workshop with the Amazing George Scribner
About two quarters ago I had the opportunity to take a 3 day oil painting workshop with George Scribner. George Scribner is an extremely talented artist and animator who has worked for Disney since 1983. He was the Director of the animated film Oliver and Company and one of the concept & storyboard artists for The Lion King. During this 3 day workshop I got the chance to pick his brain and discuss artist theory and technique. It was a huge inspiration to me as both an artist and animator. George also gave a free seminar at Underbelly following one of his classes. I took lots of notes as he was full of useful industry advice and very inspirational. The still life paintings that I produced during his workshop are available as prints from my Etsy store. I look forward to doing more oil paintings on my next break from school. ;3
Some of my favorite inspirational quotes the George Scribner Seminar:
"Chance favors the Prepared."
"Always Simplify! Break down even the most complex subject matter into basic simple shapes, you can always alter these later."
"Photoshop, After Effects, and Sketchbook Pro are the pencils of the 21st Century"
"Train Yourself to stay open, you can learn from every situation you are in."
"If you are surrounded by people better than you, then you will get better."
"If you have a passion for what you do then it will never feel like a chore."
This oil painting is called Castle At Night by the talented George Scribner.
